About the role

As an Inbound Expert on the General Merchandise and Food Sales team, you’ll lead operations, process, and efficiency to ensure product is set, in-stock, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor. This role supports inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing for all General Merchandise (GM) areas, including Food & Beverage and Food Service. You’ll also own pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work to enable efficient delivery to guests.
This role helps build skills for a career by providing experience in guest service fundamentals, retail business operations, inventory management, process efficiency, and delivering on sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by:
- Greeting guests within 10 feet (smile, make eye contact, or wave) and 4 feet (initiate a warm, helpful interaction).
- Helping guests find what they need or resolving issues for a smooth shopping experience.
- Ending every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
- Support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
- Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an inspiring experience.
- Execute a detailed, accurate, and efficient sorting operation.
- Stock, organize, and store reserve product; straighten merchandise on the sales floor.
- Maintain product availability on the sales floor for GM categories.
- Operate powered equipment (if certified) while unloading freight or moving merchandise.
- Process defective merchandise and handle environmentally sensitive (ESIM) items in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; work safely, report hazards, and correct them where possible.
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive Up (DU) while maintaining compliance (e.g., adult beverage laws).
- Perform all other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Ability to communicate using frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology.
- Work both independently and with a team.
- Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish tasks within timeframes.
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
- Climb up and down ladders.
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting, carrying, and moving merchandise up to 44 pounds throughout a shift without assistance. This involves repetitive bending, twisting, reaching, and rotating motions.
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays); work scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks.
- Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout).
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
