About the role
When a Soldier has questions about benefits, policy, or needs help with a sensitive issue, the Army National Guard’s Human Resources Specialist is the primary point of contact. As an HR Specialist, you will support Guard members in developing their careers and providing essential personnel support.
Responsibilities
- Organizing, maintaining, and reviewing personnel records
- Data entry and retrieval
- Processing recommendations
- Arranging awards ceremonies
- Preparing, updating, and coordinating requests for evaluations
- Preparing and monitoring Soldier requests for ID cards and tags, leaves of absence, and passes
- Ordering and maintaining office supplies
- Maintaining filing systems
Job Duties
- Aid in all human resource support matters
- Oversee all strength management and strength distribution actions
- Ensure the readiness, health, and welfare of all Soldiers
- Provide postal and personnel accountability support
- Maintain emergency notification data

- Aptitude for business administration
- Able to follow detailed orders
- Sound people skills
Qualifications
- Achieve military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- Be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED certificate
- Be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
