About the Role

Performs a variety of duties in the warehouse, primarily operating a forklift to move merchandise and maintain warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Completes Pre-Operational Checklist each day before operating the forklift.
• Reports all forklift damage or malfunction to supervisor.
• Operates forklift at a reasonable and prudent speed, watching for pedestrians or other motorized vehicles.
• Loads and unloads trucks with finished goods, moving between warehouses, and transporting goods to customers.
• Delivers oldest code date finished goods to order picking area.
• Hand stacks cases of finished goods on pallets.
• Maintains and accurately reports data for all merchandise movement.
• Delivers incoming merchandise to the proper department.
• Cleans warehouse floors, trailers, loading docks, and exterior areas.
• Keeps warehouse clean and orderly.
• Follows safety rules and company policies.
• Assists in counting finished goods for inventory.
• Performs duties of Order Puller and Warehouse Rework Laborer as needed.
• Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams.
• Receives and follows written or verbal instructions from supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or additional training preferred.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions).
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Certified forklift operator.

Skills

• Operation of forklift, stretch wrap machine, calculator, air hose, and WMS computerized scanning equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including reaching, walking, lifting (up to 50 pounds), pushing, talking, and hearing.
• Eye/hand/foot coordination for operating motor vehicles and forklifts.

Physical Demands

• Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
• Visual acuity required for operating motor vehicles.
• Stooping and bending in some job tasks.

Work Environment

Works inside and outside warehouse facilities, subject to seasonal temperature variations, fumes from forklifts, and occasional contact with dust, oil, ink, and grease.
