Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain sterile technique.
  • Performs all duties according to procedure.
  • Cleans, sterilizes, packages and assembles instrument sets.
  • Responsible for cleaning reusable items, including surgical pieces and processing through steam sterilizers, gas sterilizers, washer sterilizers, and ultrasonic if necessary.
  • Responsible for waste disposal and decontamination of contaminated items.
  • Inspections equipment and instruments through all procedural steps for condition and operation.
  • Collects solid instruments, kits, equipment, etc. for processing.
  • Responsible for daily maintenance and housekeeping duties on work stations as requires.
  • Affixes assist in collection of data for Quality Assurance Programs, ongoing.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma.
  • Current enrollment in a Central Sterile Technician program.

Qualifications

  • Registration/Certification: Must be currently enrolled in a Central Sterile Technician program with completion and certification required within 1 year from start of employment.

Pay

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Schedule

40 hours per week; 8-hour shifts (3:30pm-11:30pm weekdays, 7am-3:30pm or 8am-4:30pm weekend & holiday shifts); rotating weekends and holidays.
