3rd shift Utility Technician

About the role

This position will be required to perform the following tasks: Material Handler, Pack Operator / Floor and Hauler positions.

Responsibilities

• Material Handler: Deliver materials to the production lines, as well as clearing jams in packaging equipment as needed.
• Hauler: Supplies raw materials and quantities to the Production Lines in accordance with food safety requirements.
• MW Hauler: Ensure that frozen blocks needed in support of retail production lines are de-mastered, tempered and transported in accordance with Gorton’s procedures and food safety requirements.
• Pack Operator/Floor: Operating and clearing jams in various pieces of packaging equipment.
• Breaker/Cleanup: Relieve the following line positions for breaks and successfully perform these rolls: block opening, cutter, raw and cooked culler, bag inspector, palletizer and Trim Collection.

Requirements

• Must be able to perform Operations Level 2 positions.
• Reliable and consistent attendance.
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment (after a training period) – if required by your role.
• Lift up to 60 pounds.
• Stand for long periods of time up to 10 hours.
• Abide by company GMP and PPE policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Demonstrates sound judgment in decision making.
• Demonstrate proper use of Lockout/Tagout procedures as it applies to the equipment you are operating.

Pay

Hourly Rate: $25.75-$26.75; employees with less than 1 year of service will follow the planned incremental increases.
