ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs pre-shift and post-shift checks.
- Equipment readiness prior to shift.
- Schedules production.
- Covers for supervisors/employees when absent.
- Led problem solving activities.
- Has knowledge of all production processes/products.
- Trains new employees.
- Responds to quality issues within shift.
- Performs quality checks (first, middle and last piece checks).
- Standardized work training and verification.
- Maintain awareness and understand the roles and responsibilities regarding the environmental policies, management system, and objectives and targets by attending the required training.
- Performs all tasks in accordance with the EMS procedures and practices and minimize the impact of their activities on the environment.
Qualifications
- Follows company rules and policies.
- Good attendance record – less than 6 points.
- No written corrective action or above on file.
- Basic leadership skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of Toyota Production System.
- Knowledge of Kanban system.
- Excellent Organizational skills.
- Mechanical aptitude a plus.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) required.
- 1 year Lead Operator experience or 1-year previous manufacturing experience in equivalent position.
- 80% process experience in current position and special knowledge for processes.
Reasoning Abilities
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and explosives.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
Position Type/Expected Work Hours
- This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, First Shift - 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 2nd Shift – 1:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. or 4 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. or Sunday through Thursday, Third Shift – 9:30 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
- Occasional overtime throughout the week and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
