About the role
Joseph's Bakery is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Assurance Technician to join our Quality Assurance team on 1st and 2nd shift. In this hands-on role, you will monitor food safety and product quality throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with SQF, GMP, HACCP, and company quality standards in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor food safety and product quality throughout the production process
- Perform daily GMP and internal quality audits throughout the facility
- Verify corrective actions and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
- Conduct finished product inspections and quality checks
- Perform monthly Glass and Hard Plastics audits and maintain required documentation
- Calibrate production equipment, including scales, water meters, flour meters, thermometers, and pH meters
- Conduct cleaning inspections, metal detector CCP checks, and cleaning chemical titrations
- Collect and prepare product samples for laboratory testing
- Complete daily quality reports, temperature logs, and other required documentation
- Promote a clean and safe work environment while supporting SQF, GMP, HACCP, and company quality programs
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Management to maintain food safety and product quality
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Previous Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, GMPs, HACCP, and food safety programs preferred
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and product quality
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Frequent bending, reaching, climbing stairs, twisting, and repetitive movements
- Ability to lift and carry materials as needed
- Ability to perform equipment calibrations and production inspections
- Willingness to work on 3rd shift and support production operations as needed
