About the role

As a Production Operator, you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people's lives.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret part and tool drawings, applying them to machined parts or tooling.
  • Use micrometers (inside, outside, and depth), calipers, dial indicators, scales, and various gauges to verify dimensional quality of work produced.
  • Inspect units and/or tooling after machining to ensure compliance with all quality requirements.
  • Understand five-axis machine motion and interpret axial tool movement according to machine code.
  • Check for proper machine alignment (spindle, fixture, tram holes, etc.) and perform proofing/first article runs.
  • Make accurate setups, ensuring tombstones, fixtures, and/or tables are clean and free of burrs; check cutting tools for proper gauge length and diameter, ensuring tools are not dull, chipped, or worn.
  • Develop a working knowledge of machine code (G codes, M codes, etc.) and use MDI to manipulate the machine tool during setup and other manual machining operations.
  • Proof programs (part or tooling) without constant supervision, with concern for equipment protection and the ability to provide viable feedback on programming issues.
  • Operate machine tools automatically or manually to produce quality parts, maintain required production levels, or assist CNC Programmers and Maintenance.
  • Use basic computer skills to locate needed files (programs and setup sheets) and transfer between network server and machine tool.
  • Read, interpret, and follow setup sheets, tooling work instruction sheets, and dimensional aids provided by CNC Programmer, Process Engineer, or Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Willing to work overtime as needed.
  • 95% of time standing with some walking.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
