3rd Shift Production - Cutter

Atlas Molded Products is seeking a Machine Operator - Cutter for the 3rd shift in our Production Department at the Byron Center, MI facility.

Responsibilities

• Report to Manager at shift start for direction for the day.
• Demonstrate a general understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements, and departmental procedures.
• Inspect and package parts according to specification pages and record required information on in-process sheets.
• Cut, bundle, wrap, stack, pack, assemble, and label materials per specific production instructions.
• Operate or assist with machinery such as block cutting, hauling, and wrapping equipment.
• Verify equipment set-up throughout the process; operate and power down manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain productivity standards and verify all job requirements of the final products with the correct density, material, weight, size, and shape within given quality tolerance.
• Verify shipping and receiving of all materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Operate Pre-breakers / Re-Grinding equipment to recycle EPS.
• Perform any other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
• Adhere to general safety and Quality System Awareness requirements.
• Complete procedure training and verification within 2 months of hire.
• Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred.
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills desired.
• Fluent in the English language, both written and spoken, preferred.
• Ability to use simple math, count, and use basic hand-held measuring tools.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Light to moderate physical effort required, including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, grasping, fine and coarse manipulation, and reaching both forward and above head level.
• Must be able to tolerate temperature changes for the entire shift.
• Must be able to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to safely operate assigned machinery.
