3rd Shift Material Handler
Role and Responsibilities
- Aid in the preparation of workstations before production starts.
- Bring raw materials to press locations for color and mold changes.
- Stage materials in dryers for several hours before mold changes, minimizing downtime.
- Identify and manage materials that are ready for production.
- Ensure raw material supplies are full across all scheduled workstations.
- Return unused or unnecessary material to staging areas and assist with workstation cleanup.
- Notify technicians and quarantine any contaminated or questionable material.
- Control the movement and proper labeling of scrap from machines.
- Set up and oversee the grinding of scrap materials.
- Maintain and move auxiliary equipment as needed.
- Assist with mold setups and lead machine clean-up efforts.
- Maintain filters, dryers, drying ovens, vacuum stations, and grinders.
- Prepare and count inventory and perform routine inspections of forklift equipment.
- Perform routine inspections of forklift equipment and notify supervisors/management of needed repairs.
- Safely operate forklifts and other equipment, maintaining a neat and orderly work area.
- Pre-mix materials as needed and assist in oil spill management.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Experience in plastics manufacturing preferred.
- Experience using a forklift preferred.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid forklift license to hold this position.
- All required WilbertU courses based on job title are preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Average math skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Able to work well with others with minimal supervision.
- Successful maneuvering and operating a forklift truck.
