About the Role

As an Entry Level Machinist, you will perform basic drill press, lathe, milling machine, and grinding operations. You will also operate various power hand tools, grinders, drills, belt sanders, disc sanders, and other equipment. Your responsibilities include operating and understanding different types of power band saws, cut-off saws, and performing tasks such as selecting appropriate speeds, feeds, and blade replacements. Additionally, you will complete required paperwork and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred, or demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written, and computer work instructions in English.
• Demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• At least one-year completion of an approved vocational program in Machine Technology or equivalent.
• ATDM (Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing) graduates encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in general mathematics.
• Knowledge of machine shop gauges and machines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of machine shop gauges and machines.

Skills

• Basic drill press, lathe, milling machine, and grinding operations.
• Care and application of turning/plunge and form tools.
• Operation of shear vise, tapping machine (manual and power).
• Understanding of different styles and types of taps and dies (metric and standard).
• Operation and understanding of power band saw, cut-off saw, proper selection of speeds, feeds, tooth size, blade welding, guide setting, and blade replacement.
• Completion of required paperwork.

Pay

Salary Range: $18.50–$22.00 per hour. Salary will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
