3rd Shift (6711) Medical Waste/Sharps Plant Operator

About the role

Daniels Health is looking for a dependable, hands-on Plant Operator to join our medical waste treatment facility in Sturtevant, WI. If you enjoy staying active, working with a supportive team, and taking on a variety of tasks throughout your shift, this could be the role for you. As a Plant Operator, you'll play an important role in helping healthcare facilities safely manage medical waste.

Responsibilities

• Receive, weigh, and process incoming sharps and regulated medical waste containers
• Operate our autoclave system for medical waste treatment
• Load and operate our Washsmart container sanitization system
• Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment following training as needed
• Routinely lift containers weighing up to 55 lbs.
• Push loaded carts weighing up to 200 lbs.
• Spend the majority of your shift standing, walking, bending, reaching, and moving materials throughout the facility
• Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate processing records
• Follow all safety, quality, and compliance procedures
• Collaborate with a hardworking team to keep operations running smoothly

Requirements

• Someone who enjoys physical, hands-on work and is comfortable in a fast-paced industrial environment
• Experience in physically demanding roles such as warehouse, manufacturing, construction, landscaping, shipping/receiving, sanitation, or similar environments preferred (not required)
• Ability to repeatedly lift, move, and transport materials throughout an entire shift
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. regularly and safely push carts weighing up to 200 lbs.
• Comfortable standing and being active for the duration of an 8+ hour shift
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
• Reliable attendance and a proven track record of dependability
