Job Summary
The 3rd Grade Teacher is responsible for delivering a faith-based, academically rigorous elementary education in alignment with Catholic teachings. This role integrates spiritual development with core curriculum instruction, fostering the intellectual, moral, and religious growth of students.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies
- Teach religion curriculum in accordance with Catholic doctrine and diocesan guidelines
- Integrate Catholic values and teachings across all subject areas
- Lead students in daily prayer and participate in school liturgies, including Mass
- Prepare students for sacraments (e.g., First Reconciliation and First Communion, if applicable)
- Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate records of academic performance
- Create a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior
- Collaborate with faculty, administration, and parish staff
- Participate in school events, professional development, and faith-based activities
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field
- Valid state teaching certification (preferred or required depending on school/diocese)
- Practicing Catholic preferred; willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church required
- Knowledge of Catholic teachings, traditions, and practices
- Prior teaching experience (elementary level preferred)
