As a 3rd Grade Teacher, you will develop lesson plans, build rapport with students, staff, and parents, and motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge aligned with their abilities.
Responsibilities
- Plans and implements a program of instruction adhering to CSUSA’s philosophy, goals, and objectives.
- Creates purposeful, effective lesson plans that maximize time on task and provide real-world, application-based learning opportunities.
- Presents subject matter to students to maximize learning, using differentiated instruction and a variety of learning modalities.
- Reviews student records to understand individual abilities and needs; maintains accurate and complete student records.
- Maximizes educational achievement for each student through frequent diagnostic assessments and tailored activities.
- Refers students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
- Assigns lessons, corrects student work, and reviews oral presentations.
- Coordinates class field trips as required and prepares students for state-required achievement assessments.
- Stays current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory, sharing insights for curriculum improvement.
- Assists in curriculum revision, including updating written courses of study and selecting instructional materials.
- Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to student maturity and interests.
- Maintains positive rapport with students, demonstrating patience and nurturing to support growth.
- Ensures the classroom is clean, safe, and displays student-generated work as appropriate.
- Implements relevant policies governing student conduct and develops fair, consistent classroom rules.
- Develops lesson plans aligned with established guidelines and participates in curriculum planning meetings.
- Incorporates diagnostic information from Individual Education Plans (IEPs) into instructional planning.
- Takes precautions to protect supplies, equipment, and facilities for effective instruction.
- Establishes cooperative relations with parents/guardians and communicates clearly and positively.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding student records and participates in parent communication activities.
- Engages in extracurricular activities to foster a positive school culture and support students and staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
- Valid teaching certification (as appropriate).
- Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of successful teaching experience (may include Student Teaching Internship).
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Command of grade/subject-specific content and theoretical knowledge of learning theory.
- Understanding of and commitment to CSUSA’s values.
- Successful results of criminal and employment background check.

Work Environment
- Usual office working conditions.
- Light physical work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
- Travel within or outside of state may be required.
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
