About the role
We are seeking an experienced 3rd Assistant Engineer for a deepwater offshore drillship operating in the Gulf. The position involves hands-on engineering tasks such as standing engine room watches, troubleshooting machinery, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and assisting with the operation of various critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Stand engine room watches
- Troubleshoot machinery issues
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance
- Assist with the operation of diesel generators, pumps, compressors, purifiers, HVAC, sewage treatment, ballast systems, fuel and lube oil systems, freshwater makers, and other auxiliary equipment
- Respond to equipment failures and support shipyard-style repairs while offshore
Requirements
- Previous drillship experience required
- Up-to-date resume
- CERTIFICATE OF MEETINGS AND TRAINING - MARINE (USCG MMCSTCW)
- CERTIFICATE OF MEDICAL FITNESS FOR DUTY (USCG)
- Foreign Flag License
- BOSIET / FOET / THUET
- RigPass or SafeGulf
- TWIC (US Passport or government-issued ID)
Qualifications
Minimal onboarding and quick integration with the engineering department are essential. The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to support 24/7 drilling operations safely.
