Duties And Responsibilities
- Work from notes, verbal instructions, sketches and drawings, or engineering specifications; consolidate the information to be used to prepare working plans, layouts and detailed drawings.
- Reviews the design and helps resolve the details not completely defined.
- Determines the best combination of all the preliminary information and contributing data to develop the final design.
- Develops specifications, designs or drawings using engineering principals, established company standards, procedures, and instructions.
- Follows best practices, policies and procedures in the design, layout, and documentation of all company products.
- Makes models, drawings and assemblies and Bill of Materials using the CAD system and other computer tools.
- Verifies completed work; checks dimensions, Bills of Materials, materials to be used, quantities, processing information, and adherence to best practices.
- Provides scheduling, costing and technical information concerning the designs supported as well as status updates and information to internal departments and external vendors affected by design development.
- Resolves mechanical and fabrication problems with designed or purchased parts used in a design.
- Affirms that any changes are documented and prepared in accordance with engineering change procedures and in a timely manner.
- Provides regular feedback and updates to project team members and immediate supervisor about the status of design tasks.
Skills And Specifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to effectively communicate complex commercial or technical information.
- Demonstrated proficiency with G-Suite, MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Proficient in 2D AutoCAD & Inventor 3D modeling.
- Solid problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage multitasking work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work proactively and independently on a broad variety of projects.
- Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in the course of work.
- Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet job requirements.
Education And Qualifications
- Associates Degree or Technical Certification required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
