About the role
Performs a variety of inventory control and clerical functions to support rework operations. Responsible for executing accurate inventory transactions to ensure proper tracking and control of all products handled by rework teams, including red-carded product, shippers, and any product designated for inspection or additional review. Updates QC and Inventory Control team of product handled each day. Tracks and reports staffing to timekeepers and supervisors each day. Provides instruction to other team members on the order product should be reworked and handled.
Responsibilities
- Inspects individual jars and pallets of finished goods for damage to be reworked or discarded.
- Reworks items according to standard procedures established by Quality Control and FDA guidelines.
- Standing at worktable or pallet, removes jars or cases of product to be reworked.
- Uses judgment to divide jars or cases of finished goods into two categories: those to be discarded and those to go to a food bank.
- Places unacceptable product (unfit for human consumption) into bins for disposal.
- Reworks items going to food bank by cleaning the outside of the jars and repacking them into trays.
- Packs, codes, and labels reworked jars, ensuring labels are applied properly and all jars in tray cases have identifiable code dates.
- Prepares trays according to rework items and stencils description, item, and UPC codes on carton.
- Records number of items and cases reworked.
- Cleans work area or other assigned areas daily.
- Uses WMS scanner in performing some job tasks.
- Receives verbal instructions from supervisor on tasks and performs other work as directed.
- Maintains and supplies daily red card pallets and all shippers, bundles, and giftpaks scheduled as line 9, including materials needed to correct or pack them (trays, boxes, stands, sleeves, labels).
- Must be trained and able to work with RF gun and WMS system, both on the RF gun and on computer.
- Handles contacting Inventory Control supervision for shakeout or product dispositioned for trash, schedules date and time to carry product to dumpster, and assists with dumping.
- Maintains and reports accurate data for all product handled in the rework area, including Red Card, Shippers, product staged for shipments, and product returned.
- Restacks damaged pallets of finished goods.
- Cleans floors in rework area.
- Follows safety rules and company policies.
- Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams as appropriate.
Requirements
- Ability to receive email and follow instructions through email.
- Familiarity with email, voicemail systems, and ability to read reports in Excel or other formats.
- Valid NC driver’s license and good driving record.
