About the role

Safely operates a forklift in the performance of assigned warehousing duties. Performs a variety of inventory control and clerical functions to support warehouse and production operations, including accurate inventory transactions, cycle counting, system data entry, report generation, and coordination of materials movement. Ensures inventory accuracy, supports month-end activities, and assists warehouse supervision with inventory-related processes. Provides coverage within the department as needed by filling in for absent employees to maintain workflow continuity. Maintains an accurate and sufficient inventory of spices to support plant production.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts of raw materials, packaging materials, labels, and supplies using barcode technology when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through timely and precise data entry in warehouse and inventory management systems.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, research root causes, and assist with corrective actions.
  • Receive, verify, and document materials and supplies into inventory systems.
  • Fill out Material Receiving Reports (MRR) for supplies and materials when received if applicable.
  • Scan and file bills of lading, packing slips, and inventory documentation into document management systems.
  • Run, review, and modify inventory and operational reports using systems such as Excel and warehouse management software.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages, overages, or potential issues to warehouse supervision.
  • Support month-end inventory counts, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist Warehouse Supervisor with clerical tasks, such as answering telephone, taking and relaying messages, operating paging system, filing, and making copies as needed.
  • Unload raw materials, tanks, and maintain unloading and storage areas of raw materials in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Perform other work as directed by supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus additional training.
  • Competency on personal computer, including knowledge of standard business software and specialized software.
  • Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and basic algebra.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Skills

  • Forklift operation.
  • Inventory control and cycle counting.
  • Data entry and report generation using warehouse management systems and Excel.
  • Clerical tasks such as filing, answering phones, and document management.

Physical Demands

  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers, whole hand, and arms.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, including conveying detailed or important spoken instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction; ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make fine discriminations in sound.
  • Repetitive motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, with occasional walking and standing required.
  • Close visual acuity required for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.

  • Regular office and warehouse conditions.
