Responsibilities
- Assists in patient care throughout nursing areas.
- Safely transports patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatches services, and documents services rendered.
- Observes and reports patient data/status to assigned RN.
- Responds to peaks in acuity and emergent situations as directed by nursing staff.
- Maintains BLS certification and functions as a preceptor to new employees.
- Accepts and responds appropriately to feedback and recommendations for change.
- Fosters a "Culture of Safety" by verifying patient identification, understanding hospital codes, and adhering to universal precautions.
- Conveys respect for values, preferences, and expressed needs of the patient and family.
- Collaborates with the patient and family in planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
- Welcomes the presence and participation of family members at all times according to patient preferences.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: Preferred High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Minimum Work Experience: Previous Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
- Required Classes/Skills: BLS - Basic Life Support, ACLS (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification - American Heart Association (AHA).
