About the role

The Instructor at Dove Virtual Academy (DVA) plays a crucial role in delivering a high-quality, technology-based education that supports students' intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and implement instructional activities that foster active engagement in meaningful learning experiences.
• Select, create, and modify instructional resources tailored to diverse student backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
• Affirmatively assess and address evolving curricular needs, proposing improvements.
• Maintain accurate and efficient record-keeping systems.
• Create a supportive learning environment encouraging student participation.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, adhering to established timelines.
• Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment through team teaching, meetings, staff development, communities of practice, and various committees.
• Model professional and ethical conduct in interactions with students, parents, peers, and the community.
• Continuously improve student performance and meet specific course and school-wide goals.
• Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits, including meeting deadlines, coordinating meetings, and demonstrating respect for others.

Requirements

• Must be an Oklahoma resident.
• Required to visit the office 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday).

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Valid Oklahoma Professional Teaching Certificate.

Physical Requirements And Environmental Conditions

• Frequent travel may be required.
• Light physical activities and efforts are required while working in an office environment.
