About the role

A Woodworker performs a wide variety of fabrication tasks centered around building cabinetry. This role involves basic woodworking or rough carpentry work on small or large boats, frequently using staples and staple guns to assemble rough wood structures that will be covered with other materials such as fiberglass or upholstery. The position includes mill assembly and lamination woodworking and requires a willingness to learn all aspects of the woodshop, including running CNC routers, cabinet building, and assembly builds.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic woodworking or rough carpentry tasks on boats of varying sizes.
• Uses staples and staple guns for assembly of rough wood structures.
• Engages in mill assembly and lamination woodworking.
• Learns and operates CNC routers, cabinet building, and assembly builds.
• Reads and understands production schedules and blueprints.
• Handles hazardous chemicals safely and disposes of them properly.
• Follows procedures, instructions, and documents related to the quality system.
• Works safely and reports all hazards to supervisors immediately.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience in basic or rough carpentry.
• Ability to read and understand production schedules and blueprints.
• Ability to work in hot, dusty environments, potentially using protective clothing and respirators.
• Proficiency in using a wide variety of hand tools, both powered and manual.
• Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling and disposal.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves.
• Must be able to physically handle job requirements, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Understanding of basic regulatory terminology (e.g., OSHA, DEP).

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20.90 - $23.65 per hour. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
