About the role
Seneca Foods in Geneva, NY is seeking a 2nd Shift Warehouse Forklift Operator to join our team. The seasonal nature of our business often requires working overtime; therefore, hours may fluctuate due to business necessity and meeting operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of electric or gas-powered forklifts to and from various departments.
- Unload, load, transfer, and stack brite or finished goods and supplies from trucks.
- Interpret shipping order or receiving report to determine items to be (un)loaded.
- Stack and unstack pallets of products in rows, up to 5 high.
- Check product for quality and proper shipping information.
- Perform daily inspection of vehicle before operating; correct any low fluid levels.
- Track, input, change, and update data of inventory.
- Comply with proper weight distribution on rail cars and trucks.
- Ensure that GMP’s (General Manufacturing Practices), safety rules, and regulations are being followed and enforced.
- Maintain general housekeeping.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to work 12-hour scheduled shifts.
- Ability to read and write the English language.
- Ability to pass the Seneca Forklift certification test.
- Basic knowledge of forklifts.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- 1–3 months of previous forklift experience helpful, but not necessary.
Pay
Wage range based on skills, abilities, and experience from $19.50 to $31.50 per hour.
