About the role

Seneca Foods in Geneva, NY is seeking a 2nd Shift Warehouse Forklift Operator to join our team. The seasonal nature of our business often requires working overtime; therefore, hours may fluctuate due to business necessity and meeting operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of electric or gas-powered forklifts to and from various departments.
  • Unload, load, transfer, and stack brite or finished goods and supplies from trucks.
  • Interpret shipping order or receiving report to determine items to be (un)loaded.
  • Stack and unstack pallets of products in rows, up to 5 high.
  • Check product for quality and proper shipping information.
  • Perform daily inspection of vehicle before operating; correct any low fluid levels.
  • Track, input, change, and update data of inventory.
  • Comply with proper weight distribution on rail cars and trucks.
  • Ensure that GMP’s (General Manufacturing Practices), safety rules, and regulations are being followed and enforced.
  • Maintain general housekeeping.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to work 12-hour scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to read and write the English language.
  • Ability to pass the Seneca Forklift certification test.
  • Basic knowledge of forklifts.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • 1–3 months of previous forklift experience helpful, but not necessary.

Pay

Wage range based on skills, abilities, and experience from $19.50 to $31.50 per hour.
