Responsibilities
- Performs operations in compliance with FDA good manufacturing practices and Onyx quality system documentation
- Performs line clearance and processes orders to ensure continued identification and traceability
- Completes all required work order and production related documentation
- Ensures processes performed and parts produced are compliant and nonconformances are identified and handled per procedure
- Continuously strives to lower cycle times, improve tool wear, lower production costs, reduce rework and scrap, and maintain the highest standards of part quality
- Filings and maintains control of programs ensuring latest revision is used
- Writes new programs for production machines
- Completes and signs-off on Onyx Work Order following documented procedures
- Provides input to and executes on production schedules
- Works to continually meet stated Corporate and Quality Objectives
- Ability to work and teach operators within your area how to trouble shoot issues and make offsets when needed
- Adjusts machine settings and tool offsets to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements are met
- Maintains clean and organized workstation in accordance with 5S principles
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and safety
Functional Duties
- CNC Citizen (Primary)
- Produces Conforming CNC Turned Parts to Print – Citizen
- Programs the Citizen CNC Swiss Turn Lathes to Manufacture Conforming Product
- Sets Up the Citizen CNC Swiss Turn Lathes for Production
- Uses of Citizen Controller – Meldas 500L on asset #1066, 1510 & 1511.
- Onyx Plant General (Mandatory Secondary)
- Properly Uses and Maintains Measuring Instruments
- Understands and Supports the Onyx QMS and Business Practices
- Utilizes Training to Advance Employee Development
- CNC Lathe General (Mandatory Secondary)
- Follows Established Work Instructions and SOPs to Create Conforming CNC Turned Product
- Performs Other Duties in Support of Production Activities
- CNC Lathe - Understands and Performs Maintenance on CNC Turning Centers
- Uses Appropriate Measuring Instruments & Techniques to Ensure Product Conformance
Education & Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience operating Rollomatic CNC grinders or other high-precision CNC equipment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs occasionally
- Strong math and mechanical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail in a manufacturing environment
- Able to see the overall picture in order to grow and motivate the organization
- Able to handle personnel situations with diplomacy and tact
- Able to work well with a wide variety of personalities in a team environment
- Shift Times are 3:00 PM – 12 AM CST
