WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Weigh raw materials using company formulas to measure and stage various dry and liquid ingredients in preparation of production.

Job Responsibilities

  • Weigh ingredients according to formula using proper weighing techniques.
  • Place measured ingredients into V-mag dump buggy, plastic bag or in mixer.
  • Use sensory observations to spot potential quality issues and inform supervisor accordingly.
  • Keep written batch records of raw materials where necessary. This information must be recorded for all batches mixed.
  • Utilize computers to print raw material labels, weigh labels, and formula labels.
  • Maintain production flow between spice room and mixers.
  • Scale up various raw material ingredients to specified quantities.
  • Keep allergens separate and follow allergen tools color code.
  • Maintain location accuracy for all raw materials in the spice room and staging areas.
  • Issue all raw materials to specified mixing locations.
  • Check all expiration dates and use FIFO for all raw materials.
  • Return all raw materials that are not going to be used to return location.
  • Maintain a clean and organized spiced room environment.
  • Use of half face or full-face respirator
  • Will require GMP clothing such as steel toe shoes, lab jacket, glasses, hairnets, beard guard and earplugs.

Qualifications/skills

  • Able to lift and pour 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Reading / writing (record keeping).
  • Basic mathematical ability (operate scale, read formulas, count, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate using spoken words. Ability to communicate in English with co-workers in a respectful manner.
  • Experience with scales and handheld scanners.
  • Understand the difference between Gram, Ounce, and Pounds.
  • Ability to use a calculator for simple addition and multiplication.
  • Team-work oriented; self-starter; dependable; responsible; attention to detail.
  • Use of Electric jacks and Manual jacks.
  • Ability to work in an alert and safe manner.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience preferred in a food manufacturing production environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to physically perform the functions of stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, and walking for long periods of time, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to see in color.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
