About the role
The Naugatuck, CT branch of Pennsylvania Steel is seeking a 2nd shift Saw Operator to join their team. This position operates automatic cold saws and band saws, reads job specifications, makes necessary adjustments, and ensures accurate cutting processes. The ideal candidate must have experience reading micrometers and tape measures, forklift skills, and the ability to perform basic math and multi-task.
Responsibilities
- Operate automatic cold saw and band saw
- Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
- Use quality inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers to perform basic dimensional tolerances
- Monitor machine operation for continued accuracy throughout cutting processes
- Prioritize workload to meet customer requirements and company performance goals
Qualifications
- Experience operating forklifts
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Basic math skills
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently
- Familiarity with basic computer systems
