2nd Shift Quality Technician

Responsibilities

• Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions.
• Cook First Part Approval (FPA) procedures in conformance with established company or customer requirements.
• Discard or quarantine for inspection products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.
• Maintain accuracy and completeness of inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content and quantities inspected or graded.
• Issue approved QSS (Quality Standard) and work instructions prior to the start of every production run.
• Perform daily spot check verification of item packaging/labeling configuration to insure conformance to the QSS.
• Provide leadership to the Quality department personnel, including directing work activities and follow up.
• Aid in the training of Quality department personnel.
• Aid Plant Manager and/or Quality Supervisor in applicable employee training events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
• Minimum of 2 years employment experience in quality inspection/management position (preferably in a manufacturing environment).
• Relevant supervisory experience may be substituted for the education requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager or Director of Quality.

Physical Demands

• Periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
• Frequent and repeated standing, stooping, bending, and grasping.
