About the Role
The Production Worker 1 reports to the manufacturing supervisor and is responsible for operating basic machines, deburring, or light assembly in an industrial setting. This position works under close supervision with limited decision-making and minimal contact with external suppliers or customers.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain measuring instruments and test equipment; treat and inspect/test parts (e.g., routed and deburring operations) per applicable work instructions.
- Communicate project status, updates, and specific instructions to others; review item status in MRP and ensure items are logged/closed out based on current status.
- Complete and review product paperwork, ensuring all documentation is present and filled out appropriately; make accurate and timely computer entries.
- Document nonconformance and dispositions using nonconformance forms.
- Follow all departmental safety rules and regulations; wear appropriate safety gear and clothing required by work activities.
- Measure and inspect dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications using tools such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
- For Deburring roles:
- Wash deburred hardware; remove sharp edges and excess material using tools like files, scrapers, picks, and rubber tools.
- Perform visual inspections for missed burrs, edges, or damages.
- Post-clean hardware per applicable work instructions.
- Deburr hardware with simple geometry and minimal critical features (e.g., .001 max. corner breaks, cylindricity, tight diametrical tolerances).
- Deburr hardware with a limited number of features; buff and polish deburred hardware.
- For Light Assembly roles:
- Perform tasks such as STI installation, heat and freeze processing, part marking, Lee plug assembly, bonding, PIND testing, applying Molykote, pressure wash/flush, operating air ovens, swaging, flaring, Loctite (bonding), leak testing, general assembly, riveting, staking.
- Operate equipment including arbor press, hydraulic press, spring checker, gauge lap, hand lap, center lap, and deburring tools.
- Clean and organize the immediate work area.
- Interpret and follow blueprints for proper production task completion.
- Obtain certifications as necessary per function requirements.
- Perform tasks related to NDT, machinist, and mechanical assembler positions.
- Conduct limited preventative maintenance to ensure smooth operation of machines and equipment; notify supervisors of production or machine problems.
- Verify calibration of equipment and expiration dates.
- Promote teamwork within the organization.
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use a variety of basic hand tools (e.g., wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, scrapers, box cutters).
- Adherence to department safety rules regarding eye and ear protection, personal protection, hazard labeling, MSDS sheets, evacuation procedures, and emergency phone numbers.
- Verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow work instructions within area of responsibility.
- Attention to detail to notice inconsistencies or faults in parts, equipment, or production processes.
- Ability to use computer and web-based systems to input, access, modify, or output information.
- Effective writing skills; ability to read and understand work documents, communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors, and comprehend spoken information.
- General knowledge of machines and equipment functionality, including how tools interact with equipment.
- Manual dexterity and ability to work quickly with hands.
- Eagerness, enthusiasm, and optimism for work activities; willingness to take ownership and learn company policies and procedures.
- Ability to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team.
- Proficiency in simple arithmetic computations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages.

- Ability to see details (e.g., letters, numbers, codes, color, symbols, marks, labels) clearly to accomplish work tasks safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- U.S. High School diploma or equivalent required.
- This position is part of an IAM Bargained Group.
- Requires use of information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee) or possess required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Commerce.

Pay
Estimated hourly pay: $26.88 - $41.76. Salary is determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market data. Shift differential and overtime are available if applicable.
Schedule
This is a full-time, regular position anticipated to be short-term due to relocation of product lines, with employment expected through July 31, 2027. The position will be eligible for negotiated severance benefits following termination of employment.
