About the Role

The Taylor Craftsman Apprentice is responsible for learning the operation to ensure we manufacture products to the highest quality expectations. This role involves mastering the vernacular associated with our orders, understanding production goals, and anticipating problems that could impact long-term objectives, including quality control and workmanship standards. The apprentice will learn door construction, prioritize safety and quality, and contribute to maintaining high production standards.

Responsibilities

• Consistently demonstrate and incorporate safety principles for self and others into daily activities.
• Develop and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Read work-orders and perform tasks as assigned by the management team.
• Maintain production pace while meeting daily production goals.
• Operate machinery, including table saws, miter saws, shapers, routers, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and CNC-controlled machinery.
• Prepare, finish, or assemble components for the final product.
• Use shop management workflow software and hand-held scanners to facilitate electronic movement of work orders, inventory, and production-critical parts.
• Perform duties in a manner that promotes teamwork and encourages team effort.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read paperwork, interpret instructions, and exercise good judgment.
• Proficiency in basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, lift, and walk for long periods of time.
• Work a minimum of 10-hour shifts.
