About the role
Caterpillar Building Construction Products is seeking a 2nd Shift Paint Production Manager in Athens, GA. The ideal candidate will lead and manage production lines, train new hires, and collaborate across departments.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the daily activities of production line workers, assign tasks, and ensure coordination between different teams.
- Maintain safety and quality standards, monitor performance, and promote internal communication.
- Train new hires, manage scheduling, and address work conflicts.
- Partner cross-functionally to prepare, maintain, and update documentation related to operating procedures, safety, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other Production Managers on continuous improvement projects for the facility.
- Determine and execute disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Create, implement, and train standard work procedures.
- Initiate and conduct process improvement dialogues with Team Leaders and Team Members.
Requirements
- Analyze organizational problems and develop solutions.
- Apply performance management techniques to improve individual, team, and organizational performance.
- Solve diverse organizational, operational, or process problems using recognized approaches, tools, and techniques.
- Plan and organize tasks and resources systematically and methodically.
- Manage teams to production, budgetary, and efficiency targets.
Qualifications
- Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or similar roles, including the military.
- Experience with powder coat systems, liquid paint systems, pre-treat chemical application, and shot blast operations.
- Experience in multiple manufacturing support disciplines.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt certification.
- Thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
