2nd Shift_ Mechanical Manufacturing Technician_ Onsite

About the role

Mechanical Assembler I is an entry-level position focused on deburring and air grinding operations. You’ll work under direct supervision to gain a basic understanding of precision part production, following established procedures to obtain certification. Problems or deviations will be referred to senior operators, lead technicians, supervisors, or engineers.

External candidates will receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate deburring and air grinding tools, including speed lathes.
• Read blueprints to verify completed work.
• Perform daily and weekly equipment checks.
• Participate in the COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) process and use the ACE portal for issues or process improvements.
• Complete production documentation and labor transactions accurately.
• Operate hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment, and light equipment.
• Follow all EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety), Quality, and Continuous Improvement guidelines.
• Actively participate in safety-related activities and Continuous Improvement processes.
• Work over 40 hours as scheduled, including extended shifts or overtime as required.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

Schedule

• Regular schedule: 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM.
• Training schedule: First 2–3 months, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

Qualifications

You Must Have

• High school diploma or equivalent, or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.

• Ability to learn how to read and understand prints.
• Basic computer proficiency (email, printing documents, internet) and ability to learn how to access prints or work instructions via computer.
• Basic shop math, including knowledge of geometric tolerances.
• Basic proficiency in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems.
• Ability to learn the various inspection tools required for the job.
• Ability to learn the tools (e.g., ball burr, flame bit) needed for each job.
• Ability to learn and understand deburring operations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.
