About the role
Operate an electric or propane powered forklift to load and unload trucks or railcars and move raw materials and finished goods within the warehouse. Assist in custodial duties and support order selectors as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to move raw materials and finished goods, ensuring proper positioning to avoid product damage.
- Follow specific instructions from internal personnel regarding the movement of goods.
- Complete daily task paperwork and preventive maintenance check forms accurately.
- Verify product count and information against shipping and receiving documents; check for damage.
- Use RF gun or complete forms to update product quantities and locations for shipped, received, or moved items.
- Comply with safety regulations governing equipment operation and report malfunctions to supervisor.
- Follow facility-specific procedures for locking and releasing trailers.
- Identify flaws, defects, or packing method issues; arrange cases on pallets to minimize damage.
- Back up order selectors, pick and pack orders, assist with inventory changes, and stage products.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment; perform cycle counts or inventory verifications.
- Train new employees on standard operating procedures.
- Assist in general warehouse cleaning as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Must acquire forklift certification upon hire; 3–5 years of prior forklift operation experience (preferred).
- Basic reading and math skills; computer literacy.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in an automotive distribution environment (preferred).
- Familiarity with Continuous Improvement Plans, Lean Manufacturing, SOX Compliance, and OSHA Regulations.
- Familiarity with SDS/Hazmat Safety (preferred).
- Ability to follow instructions thoroughly and accurately.
- Frequent bending, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. safely.
- Good hand/eye coordination and motor skills.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay
$19.00 hourly + $1 shift differential.
