2nd Shift Machinist
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate precision and production machines such as conventional and/or CNC mills, lathes, jig borers, and grinders to machine parts to specifications and/or to precision tolerances.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut; adjust machine controls or control media as required.
- Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications using various measurement hand tools including, but not limited to, calipers, scales, micrometers, blocks, and gauges.
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 7+ years of related discipline; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to above.
Preferred Knowledge / Ability
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Machine experience covering a wide range of machines, materials, part shapes, and part sizes.
- Proven experience as a Machinist with a focus on CNC machining.
- Proficiency in CAM programming and operating various machine tools.
- Strong understanding of tooling, including lathe and milling machine setups.
