2nd Shift Hot Inspector (Manufacturing/Aerospace)
About the role
We are seeking a Hot Inspector to join our team. This role involves inspecting hot in-process forgings to ensure the forging procedure is followed correctly.
Responsibilities
- Inspect hot forgings for fill and any visible defects including metal flow defects.
- Inspect down-size (die closure) as per the AQS plan.
- Verify the surface finish, stock location and grain direction.
- Use various measurement instruments to verify the dimensions of forged parts.
- Compare inspection data with the required tolerances based on blueprints, travelers, and any accompanying documents.
- Communicate with quality control personnel, press leads, and press operators to ensure quality forgings.
- Participate in total quality management projects to achieve continuous improvement.
- Participate in LEAN manufacturing and SPC activities as required.
- Maintain an acceptable attendance record.
- Follow and respect supervisor’s direction.
- Ensure quality parts to meet customers’ and APP’s requirements.
- Work at an acceptable level of productivity.
- Maintain a non-combative, positive work attitude.
- Uphold safe and honest work habits and practices.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Support the Plant quality system goals / improvements & productivity goals / improvements within the scope of the job.
- Perform any other duties not mentioned above when instructed to do so by the department manager.
Requirements
- Some high school, vocational school, or similar work experience preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Must be a certified forklift operator.
- In compliance with ITAR regulations, must be a US Citizen or US Person (U.S. Person = a natural person who is a lawful permanent resident as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
Skills
- Some high school, vocational school, or similar work experience preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Must be a certified forklift operator.
Pay
$20.00 - $24.73 an hour. This is the lowest to highest hourly rate we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
