2nd shift General Laborer |$22/HR|

About the Role

McGill Environmental Systems is hiring a 2nd shift General Laborer to support operations at our composting and organics recycling facility. This is a hands-on position where you'll play a vital role in keeping our facility clean, organized, safe, and operating efficiently. Your efforts will directly contribute to producing high-quality compost, mulch, and soil products that support agriculture, landscaping, and environmental sustainability.

Schedule

2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Hours and workdays may be adjusted as needed to support operational requirements. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Keep grounds, ramps, screening areas, and shop facilities clean and organized
• Perform weed eating, shoveling, painting, and other grounds maintenance tasks
• Clean and prepare processing bays and production areas
• Assist with equipment cleaning and routine maintenance activities
liSupport maintenance technicians with repair and upkeep projects
• Organize tools, parts, and supplies
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and standard operating procedures
• Maintain accountability for company-issued tools and equipment
• Perform housekeeping duties throughout the facility
• Complete other tasks assigned by supervisors

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Valid Driver's License required
• Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, landscaping, agriculture, recycling, or general labor environments preferred
• Ability to work safely in a production environment
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to work around dust, dirt, mud, noise, and strong odors
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb throughout the shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to use hand tools, shovels, and cleaning equipment
• Ability to work on uneven terrain and around heavy equipment
• Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments
• Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and high-visibility clothing
