2nd Shift Finished Goods Warehouse Forklift Operator

About the role

Seneca Foods is seeking a hands‑on, detail‑oriented, safety‑minded 2nd Shift Finished Goods Warehouse Forklift Operator to join the Shipping department in Hart, Michigan. The role supports the company’s mission to feed families with safe, nutritious, and affordable food.

Responsibilities

• Unload, load, transfer, and stack finished goods and supplies to and from trucks.
• Interpret shipping orders or receiving reports to determine items to be (un)loaded.
• Complete pre‑load inspection and bill of lading (BOL) documentation.
• Stack and unstack pallets of products in rows and up to five pallets high.
• Check product for quality, accuracy, and proper shipping information.
• Scan all ticket movement and maintain FIFO according to the scanning system.
• Perform daily forklift inspection; ensure batteries are charged and maintained.
• Comply with proper weight distribution and load security on rail cars and trucks.
• Operate propane and battery counter‑balance lift trucks as well as stand‑up lift trucks.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the department and warehouses.
• Other duties as assigned or required by Management.

Requirements

• Pass forklift written test and driving test.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (read and write).
• Some mechanical skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Environment

Exposure to wet/humid conditions, extreme heat or cold, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, brine, bleach, and cleaning chemicals. Required personal protective equipment includes bump cap, eye and ear protection, and gloves.

Pay

$23.94 per hour.

Schedule

2 pm – 10:30 pm, Monday‑Friday. Hours may vary and some Saturdays are required.
