About the role
CEIS | Power is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support second-shift operations with 5+ years of experience working in a shop environment. This role involves performing a wide range of precision machining tasks on rotating equipment components and assemblies, including but not limited to pumps, turbines, compressors, and related mechanical equipment. The machinist will be responsible for producing high-quality parts that meet engineering specifications, dimensional tolerances, and quality standards. This position is a direct-hire basis, and our client, an industrial manufacturing and service company.
Schedule
2nd Shift – 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Key responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC and manual machine tools, including horizontal lathes, vertical turret lathes (VTL), milling machines, and Bullard machines.
- Perform machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, threading, and facing on a variety of materials.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, process sheets, and G-code to manufacture precision components.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters to ensure optimal part quality and efficiency.
- Measure and inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers (OD/ID), dial calipers, dial indicators, and other calibrated gauges to verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances.
- Make necessary machine offsets, adjustments, and minor program edits to maintain quality and consistency.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working in a shop environment.
