2nd shift Break Press Operator

Lou-Rich is a fully integrated contract manufacturer specializing in complex projects, providing precision machining, metal fabrication, assembly, and sourcing solutions to industries including some of North America’s largest OEMs.

About the role

As a Brake Press Operator, you will set up and operate a variety of presses to perform repetitive work using pre-sheared strip and blank size stock for different materials. You will adjust mechanical knockout devices and ram stroke, perform minor die repairs, and determine when maintenance is required. You will obtain first-piece approval from inspection, arrange workplaces, furnish materials, and demonstrate equipment operation to lower-level operators. During production runs, you will monitor equipment and make necessary adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal operations to fabricate units or products of standard or complex design, involving close tolerances.
• Plan, lay out, and execute sheet metal operations using various machines to cut, bend, or form parts.
• Set up and operate all types of sheet metal machinery and use precision measuring instruments.
• Apply shop mathematics for accurate fabrication.
• Perform simple layout work and use sheet metal hand tools.
• Duties may change at any time with or without notice.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• High mechanical aptitude and knowledge of CNC machines.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• May require some heavy lifting.

Training

• Complete applicable training within the first 60 days, including Human Resources, Safety, IFS (Time clock and Navigation), ISO, Inspection Hand Tools, Inspection Forms, CMM, and Technical syllabi.
• Follow the assigned department training matrix (e.g., Paint Line F4400-355) and additional training as determined by the supervisor.
• Training effectiveness will be evaluated through employee knowledge and demonstration of learned concepts.
• Follow-up training may be provided at the 60-day review or as needed.

Pay

$20–$24 hourly wage.
