About the Role
An Assistant Operations Technician will assist Specialist/Specialized controls technicians on various work orders. The Assistant will follow the direction of their assigned technician(s) to perform and complete those work orders, help with changing motors and/or setting vent limits throughout the facility, and handle other duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Work with the order system to manage assigned work orders
- Ensure assigned work orders are completed in a timely fashion
- Troubleshoot problems in electrical control panels, sensors, and other automation hardware
- Respond to emails and phone calls to help support other greenhouse issues
- Work with the team lead and follow duties as assigned
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Basic hand power tool knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic electrical control circuit knowledge
- Basic electrical hardware knowledge (relays, contractors, overloads, switches, etc.)
- Ability to use a multimeter (volt meter, amp meter, Megger, etc.)

Work Environment & Physical Demands
This position is primarily outdoors but may require working between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, including the use of computers and standard office equipment. Fluency in reading, writing, and understanding the English language is required.
- Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including dust and allergens
- Requires long-term ability for standing, sitting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis
- Must be able to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility, including but not limited to operating the table lifter and internal vehicles (certification required)
- Regularly required to work at heights above 6 feet
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds unaided and regularly lift up to 80 pounds with assistance
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
