Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans consistent with established guidelines, company philosophy, goals, and objectives.
- Present subject matter to maximize learning opportunities, using real-world, application-based examples.
- Review student records to understand each student's abilities and needs; maintain accurate and complete student records.
- Utilize a variety of student learning modalities and differentiated instruction to maximize educational achievement.
- Assess student strengths and weaknesses frequently, provide appropriate activities, and generate progress reports.
- Refer students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
- Assign lessons, correct student work, and review oral presentations.
- Coordinate class field trips as required and prepare students for state-required achievement assessments.
- Stay current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory; share knowledge for continual curriculum improvement.
- Assist in the ongoing curriculum revision process and the selection of books, equipment, and instructional materials.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to student maturity and interests.
- Maintain positive rapport with students, demonstrating patience and nurturing to support child growth.
- Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and includes student-generated work on display as appropriate.
- Implement relevant policies governing student conduct and develop reasonable rules of classroom/playground behavior.
- Plan individual and group learning activities to meet instructional objectives and student needs.
- Participate in curriculum planning with other staff members and incorporate diagnostic information from IEPs.
- Take necessary precautions to protect supplies, equipment, and facilities for effective instruction.
- Establish cooperative relations and communicate with parents/guardians when appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and participate in parent communication activities.
- Engage in extracurricular activities to foster a positive school culture and support students and staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
- Possession of valid teaching certification (as appropriate).
- Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of successful teaching experience (may include Student Teaching Internship experience).
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Command of grade/subject-specific content and theoretical knowledge of learning theory, including motivation, reinforcement, evaluation, and feedback techniques.
- Understanding of and commitment to company values.
- Successful results of criminal and employment background check.

Work Environment
- Usual office working conditions.
- Travel within or outside of state may be required.
- Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently needed to move objects.
