About the role

Most elementary schools reduce expectations when children face challenges. You do the opposite. You know that six-year-olds are capable of significantly more than conventional classrooms demand, and you have relied on data to demonstrate this repeatedly. Alpha operates using a two-hour learning framework. Morning academics are taught through adaptive applications, freeing your schedule for the work that genuinely transforms a child's trajectory: motivation, life skills, coaching, and accountability. You directly own a cohort of K-3 students while coaching the Guides (Alpha's term for the adults responsible for inspiring and coaching the children) who oversee their daily development. You remain actively involved every day rather than managing remotely from an office.

A typical day alternates between three activities. You review performance metrics and Coachbot analytics to identify which students and Guides require intervention. You conduct coaching sessions that leave participants with a concrete next action rather than broad encouragement. And you engage a room of five- to nine-year-olds through workshops focused on public speaking, attention, or exchanging feedback. When you identify effective approaches, you document them. The playbooks you create establish the standard that every other Guide implements, allowing your influence to expand from a single cohort to the entire level. Responsibilities

• Coaching both Guides and students through performance data, classroom observation, and direct feedback, then enforcing accountability to quantifiable objectives
• Leading one-hour live workshops for K-3 students addressing life skills including public speaking, focus, collaboration, resilience, accountability, and exchanging feedback
• Conducting individual and small-group motivation sessions that link each child's interests and ambitions to tangible academic achievement
• Developing and refining playbooks that convert your most effective methods into repeatable frameworks other Guides can apply reliably
• Training Guides on these playbooks and demonstrating excellence in facilitation to maintain standards as the team expands
• Fulfill Alpha's three commitments to every K-3 student: they love attending school, they learn at twice the typical rate, and they develop outstanding life skills and independence

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Teaching academic content or presenting lectures from the classroom front; adaptive apps handle instruction while you coach individuals
• Reducing expectations in response to student difficulties
• Managing from a distance the way instructional coaches and principals typically operate; you remain directly embedded with your cohort each day
• Handling the full campus budget, operations, and parent communications; a Campus Lead manages those responsibilities so you can concentrate on student and Guide performance
• Advocating for traditional teaching approaches or adhering to a standard K-12 curriculum

Requirements

Basic Requirements

• Willing to work in person at an Alpha campus in Austin, TX or Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ; relocation support is provided
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, Child Development, or a related field
• At least 5 years working with elementary-aged children (roughly ages 5 to 9)
• Experience leading a team of 5 or more people, including authority to hire and to remove people based on performance outcomes
• Experience building, launching, or significantly growing a program, team, school, or initiative from the ground up, not inheriting an existing one
• Comfortable working in a school that rejects traditional teaching methods
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Master's degree in a related field
• Proven track record using metrics, dashboards, or analytics to diagnose challenges and produce measurable improvement
• Experience coaching or managing other adults toward measurable results, not merely executing the work yourself
• Background in youth development, camp leadership, competitive coaching, tutoring, or enrichment programs where motivation played a central role
• Comfort and proficiency facilitating sessions or speaking publicly before large groups of young children

Schedule

Full-time position. All roles are year-long positions. The payment period is weekly.
