2nd Grade Teacher, Alpha - $150,000/year USD

About the role

The role is on-site at an Alpha campus in Austin, TX or Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ, with relocation assistance provided. It is a full-time position offering $150,000 annually.

Responsibilities

• Coach both Guides and students through performance analytics, classroom visits, and clear feedback, maintaining accountability to quantifiable objectives
• Lead one-hour interactive workshops for K-3 students covering life skills including public speaking, concentration, teamwork, resilience, accountability, and feedback practices
• Conduct one-on-one and small-group motivational sessions linking each child's aspirations and interests to tangible academic advancement
• Create and iterate on playbooks converting your most effective methods into replicable frameworks for other Guides to implement reliably
• Train Guides on these playbooks and demonstrate facilitation excellence to ensure quality standards remain consistent as the team expands

Requirements

• Available to work on-site at an Alpha campus in Austin, TX or Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ
• Minimum of 5 years working with elementary-age children
• Experience leading a team of 5 or more individuals, with decision-making authority for hiring and performance-based removals
• History of building, launching, or substantially expanding a program, team, school, or initiative from inception
• Willingness to work in an environment that rejects conventional teaching practices

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Advanced degree in a relevant discipline
• Demonstrated ability using data systems, dashboards, or analytics to identify issues and produce measurable gains
• Experience coaching or supervising other adults to achieve specific outcomes beyond executing tasks independently
• Experience in youth development, camp programs, competitive coaching, tutoring, or enrichment contexts where motivating participants was essential
• Confidence and competence facilitating sessions or speaking publicly before groups of young children
