28-hour position at Our Island Home, the Town’s nursing facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate laundry equipment to clean and sanitize residents’ clothing, linens, and other machine-washable items.
- Prioritize tasks and complete them in a detailed, timely, and safe manner despite frequent interruptions.
- Perform basic housekeeping tasks requiring bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting department equipment.
- Maintain infection control standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Up to one year of prior work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Interest in working with the elderly.
- Physical ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; bend and reach; and push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Pay
Starting hourly rate: $25.14 (new hires) – $31.81 (employees with 20 years of service with the Town of Nantucket).
