28 Electronic Technician I

About the role

Hood Packaging Corporation, one of the largest manufacturers of paper packaging for a variety of products, is looking to fill the following position at their Tifton, GA facility.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain Electrical and Electronic equipment in the facility.
• Read maintenance orders properly.
• Ensure all raw materials and tools are available.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Properly store tools, waste, and unused materials.
• Follow quality check requirements/ISO procedures.
• Read work orders, wiring diagrams, blueprints, or any other type of schematics.
• Communicate orally with employees and supervisors when working in teams or troubleshooting equipment.
• Keep accurate records in their “log book”.
• Read a tape measure accurately.
• Operate a calculator.
• Possess excellent computer knowledge & skills for advanced mathematical computations.
• Recognize colors and shapes to ensure maintenance meets work order requirements.
• Lift 40-80 pounds.
• Climb steps/ladders to troubleshoot/repair equipment.
• Push/pull tool carts.
• Lift up to 50 pounds to repair machines and maneuver parts/raw materials.
• Work in a safe manner.
• Ensure guards are in place.
• Follow lock-tag-try & ZES procedures.
• Observe hazards such as nip points, Electrical hazards, Thermal hazards, Chemical hazards.
• Follow plant and department safety rules.

Requirements

• Perform essential functions of reading, writing, advanced mathematics on approximately a 14th grade level.
• Education: Technical School Training (2 year degree) or a minimum of 5 years experience working as a maintenance person qualified in two or more maintenance skills.
• Excellent mechanical comprehension/ability.
• Good organizational skills & housekeeping skills.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.
• Plant operates 24/7.
