About the role

NHS Dumfries and Galloway is seeking a Dental Therapist Tutor based at the Dumfries Dental Centre. The post is advertised as 4 days per week, though applications for alternative working patterns are welcome and any number of days will be considered. The successful applicant will join a team of tutors delivering the University of Highlands and Islands BSc Oral Health Science programme, an innovative course spanning Dumfries, Inverness and Stornoway. Teaching is undertaken across video conferencing systems and within a virtual learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching on the BSc Oral Health Science programme as part of a multi-site tutor team
• Teach using video conferencing systems and the virtual learning environment
• Contribute to course delivery across Dumfries, Inverness and Stornoway locations

Requirements

• Current registration with the General Dental Council (GDC)
• Experience in education, or willingness to undertake training in education
• PVG Clearance (must have or obtain)

Skills

• Familiarity with IT systems, including video conferencing platforms
• Competence with virtual learning environments
