26 - ESS Preschool Teacher Itinerant (2026 - 2027 School Year)

About the role

The ESS Preschool Teacher at Pueblo School District 60 is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment. The role supports the district's mission to provide a high-quality education that prepares students for a life of purpose and impact.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement an instructional program guided by student potential and aligned with district policies and the teacher contract.
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and students to foster a cooperative and engaging environment.
• Teach and support students in developing academic, social, and emotional skills.
• Ensure a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
• Engage with the community and promote the district's values and vision.

Qualifications

• A valid Colorado Teaching License within 60 days of hire, endorsed in Early Childhood Education and Special Education.
• Highly qualified in applicable content areas through passing scores on state-approved exams or alternative licensing programs.
• Two years of experience working with families and young children, preferably with special needs.
• Previous successful experience as a preschool classroom teacher.
• Knowledge of IDEA 2004 and District Policies and Procedures.
• Experience with Infinite Campus or willingness to undergo training.
• Experience in a Title I or low-income setting.
• Knowledge of Common Core standards and ability to implement standards-based curriculum.
• Effective classroom management skills and commitment to system change.

• Ability to write specific learning goals, objectives, and outcomes.
• Ability to analyze and use multiple data sources to make sound instructional decisions.

• Ability to scaffold and differentiate instruction.
• Knowledge of and experience with Positive Behavior Support Program or willingness to implement the school-wide discipline plan.

Pay

Salary range for the ESS Preschool Teacher is competitive and based on PEA Negotiated Agreement.

Schedule

The Teacher works a 165-day school year with a FLSA Exempt status.
