Qualifications
- Previous experience coaching in the sport and solid leadership skills strongly desired.
- Valid first aid/CPR card is required.
- NFHSA coach preferred.
Pay
The 2025-26 Salary Schedule is provided. The 2026-27 Salary Schedule will be determined.
Schedule
Hours: 2-8 hours per day during the season.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Directs and supervises assistant coaches.
- Holds organized, supervised practice as the program requires.
- Teaches the skills necessary to participate and to be competitive in the sport.
- Teaches the strategies necessary to participate and to be competitive in the sport.
- Teaches the drills and exercises needed for developing strength, stamina, and speed in the sport.
- Develops seasonal goals and objectives and daily practice plans.
- Develops lines of communication with students, staff, parents, officials, Athletic Coordinator, and booster clubs to promote the sport.
- Maintains a record that includes information about equipment, supplies, student eligibility, and emergency medical information.
- Ensures adult supervision of athletes before and after practice, games, and on bus trips.
- Provides for the safety and security of all student athletes.
- Prepares and submits to the building athletic coordinator a final season report that includes: Inventory of all supplies and equipment, Records of the contests, Individual records of athletes for awards, A tentative budget projection for the next season.
- Complies with all athletic association regulations, league rules, and District policies.
- Attends coaching clinics as requested by building principal or athletic coordinator.
- Follows all specified standards, policies, and procedures of the building and Ashland School District.
- Actively encourages student participation.
- Promotes the ethical value of athletics.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with the administration and community that enhances the sport.
- Provides proper care, maintenance, and security of facilities, equipment, and supplies from the first day of the season until the cycle of responsibility is completed.
- Promotes concepts of sportsmanship.
