26-662.B - Field Operator

About the role

As an operator, you will monitor, maintain, and control all steps of oil and gas production at GPMA. This includes well head monitoring, operating test separators, and preparing equipment for maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment for safety problems, leaks, or wear and tear, and make or recommend appropriate repairs.
• Demonstrate good working knowledge of process equipment including test separators, well heads, and pumps.
• Perform light maintenance work; operate manual valves and conduct general equipment upkeep as needed.
• Use computer programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and HMI process control.
• Review and monitor prior shift logs for accuracy, including daily computer logs and process boards.
• Gauge and record daily tank inventory and chemical volumes.
• Monitor, maintain, and record process readings.
• Work alone; acknowledge, respond to, and initiate corrections/actions to process alarms.
• Monitor and maintain all control loops in the area.
• Perform all required regulatory testing and monitoring of producing/injection wells.
• Drain or recover fluids from containments to prevent spills.
• Conduct and/or coordinate ongoing maintenance and general housekeeping of the plant.
• Procure necessary materials and supplies to complete daily tasks.
• Read automatic gauges at specified intervals to ensure process efficiency.
• Monitor and maintain logs of meter readings, test results, and adjustments made.
• Adhere to the company’s values: integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.
• Support company vision and mission.
• Adhere to established work schedule, attendance standards, and be punctual to work and meetings.
• Be available 24 hours per day while on the Slope (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
• Maintain employee confidence and protect company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
• Write and communicate complete handover notes to ensure proper turnover to alternate shifts.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by Ops Lead.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a processing plant or drill site.
• Solid foundation of mechanical skills.
• Ability to accurately troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Ability to work long hours to cover/monitor assigned field territory.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
• Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
• Ability to work in Arctic conditions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter, team player, comfortable working under pressure, and dedicated to developing workforce.
• Ability to work a 14/14, 12-hour/day schedule.
• Experience on the North Slope preferred.

Qualifications

Required: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability, and skills to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Schedule

14 days on, 14 days off, with 12-hour shifts per day.
