Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IB curriculum. Integrate real-world applications and interdisciplinary connections to deepen student understanding.
- Create a classroom environment where students actively explore concepts, ask questions, and develop critical thinking skills through inquiry-driven activities.
- Adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students, ensuring inclusivity and individual academic growth.
- Use a variety of formative and summative assessment methods to track student progress, offer timely feedback, and guide further learning.
- Foster collaboration and teamwork among students to enhance communication, creativity, and diverse perspectives within the classroom.
- Incorporate global issues and cultural understanding into the curriculum, encouraging students to appreciate multiple viewpoints and perspectives.
- Serve as a mentor and advisor, providing both academic guidance and personal support to students as they develop intellectually and emotionally.
- Pursue ongoing required professional development opportunities to stay current with the latest IB methodologies, curriculum changes, and assessment practices.
Qualifications
- A valid teaching license in the relevant subject area
- Bachelor’s degree in the related subject area
- IB teacher certification required (PYP, MYP, or DP depending on the teaching level). Candidates will have a 1 year time frame upon accepting their position to obtain the required certification.
- Experience in inquiry-based learning and differentiated instruction
- Strong understanding of IB philosophy and assessment criteria
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
