Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist children in crossing streets on the way to and from school at assigned times and locations
- Attempt to cross all pedestrians including non-students as required by law
- Interact with children, staff and community members on a positive basis
- Place and remove speed signs and report maintenance needs when required
- Learn and follow state law and adopted procedures regarding the operation of school crossings
- Report student safety infractions
- Report license numbers of vehicles violating safety regulations
- Monitor and report infractions of state laws regarding school zones
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)

Ada And Other Requirements
- Pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions
- Moderate Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 17 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
- Requires regular holding a stop paddle at or above shoulder level when crossing pedestrians
- Working Conditions: Outdoor environment including exposure to noise and being on your feet
- Maintain reasonable awareness of pedestrian, vehicular, and other traffic in all directions
- Requires standing in inclement weather including summer heat
