Inspiring Our Swimmers
Build a Christ-centered, competitive, and development-focused team culture under the guidance of the head coach. This role involves:
- Assist in building and leading a Christ-centered swim program aligned to Aug Prep’s mission and values
- Model servant leadership through humility, encouragement, and integrity
- Participate in a year-round vision including in-season and off-season programming, training, and team culture
- Aid in all practices, games, and team functions with structure and purpose
- Work with the head coach to create a positive, disciplined, and growth-oriented team environment
Training & Development
Ensure comprehensive training focused on skill development, team tactics, conditioning, and mental toughness. Responsibilities include:
- Teach fundamental and advanced swim skills with attention to individual athlete growth
- Support holistic athlete development including leadership, accountability, and resilience
- Collaborate with strength and conditioning staff as needed
Building Relationships
Establish strong relationships with student-athletes, families, staff, and the broader school community. Key responsibilities are:
- Create team expectations that reflect integrity, perseverance, courage, and respect
- Communicate clearly and consistently with all stakeholders
- Manage team-building opportunities that reinforce culture and unity
Operational Excellence
Maintain compliance with WIAA, conference, and school policies. Essential duties include:
- Ensure all athletes meet academic, behavioral, and eligibility standards
- Coordinate with the Athletic Department on scheduling, transportation, and facilities
- Manage equipment, uniforms, and inventory responsibly
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should:
- Believe in the potential of every child and commit to excellence
- Align with Aug Prep’s Mission, South Star, and Christian values
- Have strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Be able to build relationships and lead with integrity
- Have experience in coaching volleyball (3+ years preferred)
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Have CPR and AED certification preferred
- Participate in a local church
- Be a team player with a service mindset and high character
